I am on Tamoxifen. I take citalopram, is it ok to take citalopram with Tamoxifen

Thank you for posting and asking if you can take citalopram with tamoxifen. Some studies have shown that some anti-depressants can make tamoxifen less effective, however more recent research suggests this is unlikely and Citalopram has not been listed as a contraindicated medication with tamoxifen in the British National Formulary.
It is always important to discus any medication that you take with your treatment team. They can assess you and can advise if an alternative hormone treatment or anti-depressant may be appropriate for you.
