Really? Sorry to hear that. I’m due to be on anastrozole for 10 (not there yet) and it never occurred to me there’d be withdrawal symptoms. I hope they pass off soon. X

Hi,please don’t let it put you off as this could be just a one off situation.I react to most medication at the best of times so I was kind of expecting some kind of withdrawal effects. The odd thing is,the pain I am getting at the site of my lumpectomy!Yesterday was excruciating!!I’m hoping it wears of in due course.I can’t seem to find any documentation on withdrawal symptoms?I just think it’s not discussed and maybe swept under the carpet.I was wondering if anyone else has experienced such withdrawals?Wishing you all the best in your treatment xxx

Hi @sorento I have learned that Tamoxifen affects people in different way, I for example ended up with Chronic Fatigue and some of the other men I know through the VMU have had no affects whatsoever, one of whom was on it for ten years.
One of the men got extreme depression when he stopped . He went back to his Oncologist and they decided to wean him of gradually and since they did that he has been great. It might be an idea to look into that yourself.
Wishing you all the best

Hi,thank you for your response to this topic.Sorry to hear about your friend experiencing side effects when coming off Tamoxifen.Hope he manages to wean himself off the drug and feels better.Today is my best day and I think I’m through the worst of the withdrawals, fingers crossed. The pain has subsided and the dizzy spells are much better.I wouldn’t wish how I felt on anyone. It’s been an horrendous week but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now.I just wish I’d known about it and I think there should be more support for people who experience such effects. The fact I wasn’t expecting it heightened my feelings of anxiety, which then becomes a vicious circle.Best wishes and thank you again.
