Hi Rajastree,
Thank you for your comment.
If you post this to our Ask our Nurses board, you will be able to get a response from one of our clinical nurses. They will be able to advise you on Tamoxifen.
We hope you’re doing well - sending you our very best wishes,

Hi!!
We have a very similar story. I was also stage 1, had a lumpectomy and 20 radiation treatments. I have been on tamoxifen for just over a year and recently stopped to see if my muscle & joint pain would subside. I am very active and the pain just continues to get worse. My oncologists said to stop the med for a few weeks to see if it gets better. It has not and I’m told by a friend that it can take months to feel better AFTER getting off of tamoxifen. Which makes sense because it is supposed to work long term after we stop taking it. Right!?
I am super frustrated and trying supplements to help with inflammation. The more I research the more people I find do not continue w tamoxifen.
I’d like to continue (my reoccurance rate is only 9%), however, there has to be an alternative to help the pain. And i there is not I am not sure i’ll get back on it!
I did blood work yesterday to see if anything else could be going on (I know it is not!). And I did a bone scan recently and it was clear as can be.
Love to hear thoughts, suggestions, etc!!
