i have had a month of tamoxifen and am so emotional, cry at a lot of things. Will this settle as my body gets used to it? I’m also tired and nap in the afternoon if I’m not at work. Struggle to get up in the mornings and lack motivation.im normally quite active. Not sure wether it’s all to do with Tamoxifen or covid related. Any advise please?
Hi geordiedevon - I’m glad you have also posted your question in this section.
I sent you a reply on another thread trying to answer your various questions (the one headed oncotype score). I am sure lots of people will come along here with advice. In case you haven’t seen my other reply - Tamoxifen affects everyone differently, some get horrible side effects and some don’t and obviously many in between. My oncologist said it can take about 3 months for things to settle, so maybe try a bit longer and see if you feel any better. But, as I said in my other message, do always call your BCN/team if you have any concerns at all.
2020 has been one dreadful year with Covid, and with a diagnosis it’s not surprising that you feel emotional. Your body and mind need time to heal and come to terms with what you have gone through.
I won’t repeat my other message but let me know if it hasn’t posted properly.
If you have any questions about the forum in general too, please do ask.
Best wishes, Evie xx
I too have been on Tamoxifen for a month now. Feel lethargic and have cried three times in two days. So hope this adjustment period doesn’t continue for too long. Im usually an active and easy going person. Perhaps interrupted sleep with hot flashes and foot pain are also to blame.
