Does anyone know how long it is before you start seeming some improvement after last taxotere which I had three weeks ago Monday. Another Herceptin this week. When does hair start growing back. I am still suffering from upset stomach. Skin on hands still seems red and tender. etc etc etc.
I don’t know, but have just bookmarked this thread to hopefully find out, as my last taxotere will be on 17th December (nice tasty Christmas lunch for me then - not!). Do you find the symptoms diminishing at all yet Starfish? I have escaped (so far) the red tender skin on hands, just have it on and off on my feet, and keep smothering them in E45.
Here’s hoping you see and feel improvements soon,
julie

Hello Julie & Starfish
My last taxotere was 8 weeks ago, since then I’ve had a mx and am still having herceptin.
Most of the side effects seem to have diminished, although some days seem better than others but it does get better.
I still have neuropathy in my hands, watery eyes (especially in the wind), fluid retention is still quite bad but my hair had started coming back before my last and 6th tax. It’s not quite thick enough yet to go without a buff, but its definitely there. I am still overweight by some 5 kilos than before the start of tax, so I will have to work on this.
I still get diarreah some days and need to take Imodium, but I think apart from these annoying things, generally I feel better than during the weeks/months of chemo.
Good luck to you both, it does get better really.

Hi
Nine weeks since last tax, herceptin tomorrow. Same as Peacock, most side effects have diminished.
Watery eyes and neuropathy in fingers has stopped. Fluid retention in the ankle and foot (the leg I had radio for bone mets) has gone now. Lost 4Ibs in weight, still need to lose 7lbs to get back to pre chemo weight.
Hair growing back but still not enough to go without buff.
Feel like I have more energy-started walking this week and doing tai chi again.
Good luck
