maybe another stupid question, but I’m having my scans on 1st of December and then talk with my oncologist. I am hoping the Navelbine is working and I can stay on it for a while longer. But if it isn’t then I’ll have to start with something else. My onc didn’t really want to give me Navelbine, she thought I should stop chemo, but I refuse to do that. You never know what might work. My question is this: if they have tried you on Taxotere and it didn’t take, is there a chance that Taxol might work?
Well always a chance…but taxotere and taxol do work in similar ways.
I had taxotere after surgery for primary bc which kept me in remission for 2 and a half years. Oncologist at Marsden thought therfore that it would be good for me to try taxol for my regional recurrence. I’ve had 7 weekly doses now and clinically it doesn’t seem to be working as tumours in my neck etc feel bigger.
Navelbine also by the ways works in a similar way to the taxanes…it shrank my tumours for a while last year and I may return to it if I come off taxol after next lot of scans.
Sorry you’re in such a hard place…its horrible isn’t it when nothing seems ot be working…
