Hi ladies. A couple of weeks ago I had a chest x-ray came back clear. This was for shoulder pain which Dr thought was due to pluerisy. 2 weeks on I’m having grinding and pain in my shoulder along with pings of pain throughout my arm and collar bone. Speaking to gp Monday morning and going to push for a bone scan. I’m convinced there is something going on and terrified it’s mets. To me the signs are not promising. I only finished chemo in Jan:( I’m terrified. I am 30 with a 3 year old and 1 year old daughters who need their mummy
Hi, thought I would do a quick reply. Ask your GP of course, but don’t forget that a chest X ray would show the bones in your collar bone and others which would surely have raised concerns if they were mets? Wishing you well xx
Hi Cw, just sending a hug as I know how terrified you must be. I have lung mets which showed on my CT scan, so I think to reassure yourself perhaps a request for a scan is in order . An ordinary X Ray will not show tiny mets. However, if you’ve just finished chemo I would have thought anything untoward would have been picked up. Don’t forget, as well, that arthritis and rheumatism also cause a lot of pain. X
hugs & prayers going your way. Hope you get a full bone scan soon. Be reassured that even if mets are found there are plenty of us here living well for years after the diagnosis. Scary at first, but knowing what you’re dealing with is the first step to getting on with your life. What I have found is that oncologist doesn’t seem to concerned about bone mets as that’s not what will kill you - it’s the lung mets in my case they’re more worried about, so you should be reassured that chest X-ray came back clear.
Thank you for all of your support. I spoke to the gp this morning and I am booked in to see her Thursday for a physical examination. The whole area actually feels a lot better today so hoping that is a good sign x
