Hi coll26. I have just endured a 3 week wait for my clinic appointment and i can honestly say it was an agonising time. I lost 12.5lb in weight and was wandering around in a zombie state through lack of sleep and crying at every and any little thing. Igot told yesterday that my lump was benign, a cyst and nothing to worry about. The relief was palpable. Iām sure youāll be fine too. Youāll find the clinic to be a calming environment and if anything like me will find relief in just being there. Good luck for the best possible news and please let us know how you get on.
If your lump turns out NOT to be breast cancer, they should tell you pretty much straight away. If they need to do biopsies, you will have to wait. For me it was one week.Ā

I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma on November 1st 2012. I had a mastectomy and sentinel node biopsy on December 12th 2012. Following this I had chemo FEC-T starting in February 2013 to May 2013, I didnāt have radiotherapy but Iām now taking Anastrazole for at least five years. In December 2013 I had my first annual mammogram, all clear, and in January 2014 a complete breast check - again, all clear. I didnāt have any problems with any of my treatment, and at the moment Iām feeling quite well. Iām 63 with 5 grown up children and 7 grandchildren.Ā
Ā
Iām hoping for a good result for you, but if it does turn out the be BC, the treatments are very reliable now and should be successful.
I was called in after screening at the end of jan. The clinic is exactly as described in the leaflet you will find on here. Ā
Ā
I spoke to the doctor, my partner was with me, he then had to sit in the waiting room as it was women only in the rest of the clinic. Ā Everyone was in the same situation, you could see how worried some of the women were but most people who go to the clinic do not have cancer.Ā
Ā
They did all the tests and then my partner was allowed to come back into the room when I saw the doctor again. Ā I was told it āseemed like a cancerā Ā but they had taken some biopsies so I got the full results a week later.
Ā
Everyone at the clinic understands your terror and will do what they can to put your mind at rest if possible.Ā
Ā
Donāt spend time looking things up on the internet. There are so many different types. However post here if you Ā think of questions and phone the number if you need talked down. Ā
