Tethering and seroma

Hello all

I have some Tethering on the side of my breast near where the lump was. I had breast reduction and the lump removed.

Am I correct in thinking this is scar tissue sticking the skin to tissue underneath?

Is this the same as cording?

Several nurses have seen this and no action taken. Any chance this eventually goes away? Can it be corrected by further surgery?

Obviously I’d rather not have it, but it’s not a big deal. I have full mobility but it is much stiffer first thing in the morning and I have to stretch and massage it. When I raise my arm It causes a “cord” of flesh in in my armpit and a short distance along my upper arm.

Also I have what I think is a small (1.3cm) seroma on the inside edge of my breast. It’s slightly sensitive. Again several breast nurses have seen it and I’ve asked but they avoided answering. Read these usually go away on their own eventually?

Wishing everyone well

Maybe you could ask about this in the Ask the nurses section of the forum , hopefully they will be able to give you some answers . Best wishes Jill x
