Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who takes the trouble to answer questions, give comfort and offer reassurance on here. I am waiting to go to the breast care clinic after finding a lump in my breast, but haven’t spoken to friends or family as I don’t want to cause uneccessary worry. Reading the posts on here has been like having someone to talk it through with so thank you. Wishing everyone on here all the best with whatever you are facing x
Dear hadders,

Hi hadders. I’m sorry to hear you’ve found a lump and are dealing with this alone. It can be a time of immense worry for anyone and everyone. Is there one person you feel you could talk to? Perhaps someone who could go with you? It’s not nice to be on your own in these circumstances, especially if it does turn out to be bad news (though I hope and pray it isn’t for you).
Obviously, it’s entirely your decision how you deal with this, so please don’t think I’m being pushy!! I just know that I needed my other half with me when going for tests and results. Do have a think about it…
Whatever happens, you will always find support on here. I found this site really useful when I needed a lift, or some additional information etc. I preferred to use these forums rather than talking, especially whilst I was playing the dreaded waiting game! Though my family were all aware of my situation and I talked to my partner constantly about it.
I truly wish you the very best of luck and good health, and I sincerely hope it is benign. Just remember, most breast lumps are innocent and no cause for concern. But, should it be anything more serious, this place is always open!!!
Best wishes, Mel. xxx
Hi Hadders,
I have to agree with Mel on this. Having that one person to confide in and to be at the clinic with you in case you get potentially bad news, will help you get through it better. If on the other hand the news is better than you expect, it’s someone to have a coffee with and share the relief.
Wishing you all the best for your appointment.

thank you for your caring responses. I do have people who I can turn to if it’s bad news, but just don’t feel able or ready to talk about it yet. I’ve got my appointment on Wednesday and am starting to feel quite anxious. I have set myself small goals for each day I have been waiting to take my mind off it - still thinking about it but have acheived quite alot this week!
best wishes to you x
Good for you, setting yourself little goals!! I totally appreciate where you’re coming from about talking; we each deal in our own way and there are no rights or wrongs in this.
Wishing you every good wish. Hope it’s great news. If ever you need a shoulder, feel free to message me. xxx
