Thank yous

Hi to all you wonderful folk on this forum,

I started looking at these forums after I had my first chemo (FEC) just before Christmas which really helped me - lots of fantastic advice which I have taken on board in preparation for my 2nd chemo, which was today. I kept meaning to take the step and enter the ‘space’ but wasn’t sure I had anything I could contribute. But today as a waited outside IV I thought I must thank all the people who have commented and helped me (without knowing) other the past few weeks. You are inspiring. The advice on mouth ulsers, hair loss (headcovers are great), all things ginger, not feeling guilty about work etc etc have been so beneficial. Thank you!

Cheers

Bridge

P.S. Really into beige food. If it’s taupe and full of carbs then I’m your gal!

Glad everyone has being a help to you and a big welcome to the forum and of course you have lots to contribute to the forum.

Well done on your second chemo! Funny you should metion beige food. I sometimes say I’m into “c” foods; as in coke, crisps, chocolate, chips and cheese. Hee hee.

Best wishes,

Teacup xx

Hi Bridge, and welcome,
It’s great that the forums have helped you and as teacup says, you’ll soon be advising other people! It’s amazing what a difference feeling informed can make to how you feel.
Hang in there with the chemo

Hi Bridge

Glad the forums have helped you - I found the same.

There’s a load of us just had chemo today - at various stages, I’ve just had 3rd of 4 fec today - we hold ‘cyber hands’ to help us get through it lol - you’ll find most of us either on the 1st Fec thread or the Anyone Starting Chemo thread - feel free to join in !!

Hope today went ok for you - take care

Hi Bridge and everyone else I had my 2nd FEC today after it was delayed for a bit. It has been reduced by 20% so I hope to feel a bit better this time, and am trying the anti-travel sickness bands. I have ate loads since I got back! The nurses were surprised that I still have a lot of hair, it has really thinned but no patches and I’ve cut it really short. Did anyone else keep their hair till after the 2nd dose?
Sharon

Hi Sharon

Well done with the hair - I am on Fec and mine fell out in handfuls on day 16 after the first one - if you look at the ‘1st Fec’ thread on here you will see that this was a common theme for most of us - so you are doing well !!

Funnily enough I have just had my 3rd Fec today - and everyone is commenting on the fact that my hair appears ?!? to be growing again - it’s certainly longer now (mind you we are talking millimetres here not inches lol) than it was at the 2nd - strange hmmmmmmmmmm

take care
