The litany of fear- A poem for all of us here

A friend of mine sent me this little poem I like to share with all of you here- ( it is taken from Sophia’s book of Magic and Philosophy)

I must not fear.

Fear is the mind-killer.

Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.

I will face my fear.

I will permit it to pass over me and through me.

And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.

Only I will remain

I will not fear

Thank you - it was just what I needed to read.

I especially liked the the line “Only I will remain”, because that’s it, the cancer is gone (positive thinking here), the fear will go and I will still be here! Just me! I like me, just me, and I will remain here to grow old with the love of my life, to see my babies grow up.

I will remain.

I found one i like too hope it brings comfort to lots of others on hear. GOD HEALS

Remember when you heard the words -
and your mind went blank - you were in another world
God heals
Remember in your darkest hours -
when all that surrounds you is pain and sorrow
God heals
Remember friends’ prayers - your family’s encouragement

  • glimmers of hope from everyday angels
    God heals
Quiet…you can hear Him now -
always there - yet never this close
    God heals
    It’s just another day -
yet everything has changed - and you hear yourself say
    God heals
    Birds are singing -
the sky is a beautiful blue - flowers are blooming…
    God heals
Truths that you knew as a child -
    awakened again with new understanding
    God heals
    Remember when others can’t -
that life is a gift - each day to treasure
God Has Healed take care all x

Avonlea - in the interests of copyright and honesty - the poem about fear actually comes from Frank Herbert, author of “Dune” - I’m afraid Sophia’s little book may have lifted it without attribution. Not a good thing for her to do.

Best,
Lyn

I love the line Only I will Remain too guardian angel
Having had surgery for both breast and kidney cancer in 3 years, i am praying that line can come true for me
I also pray for all those here today and those no longer with us due to this awful curse called cancer

Hi Ann,

Of course I don’t mind - it’s not mine but even if itwas I would give it to you gladly - anything that helps us, is worth sharing.

This is a tough thing we are going through, so anything that can help ease the burden or give comfort to us should be done.

Goodluck,

Karen xx
