The new normal !!

Today I began my new normal!!

I have just returned to work after having 12 months off I was diagnosed with HER2 positive hormone negative BC. I had 6 months of chemotherapy, 2 episodes of neutropenia resulting in hospital treatment to prevent sepsis, a lumpectomy, lymph node removal followed by radiotherapy (15 sessions) and herceptin injections until September.
I was fortunate enough to have a complete radiological and pathological response to treatment ( my tumours originally were 12mm and a non mass enhancement of around 60mm).

What a whirlwind of a year it has been in fact I feel like I’ve been on a rollercoaster ….got off been spun round 10 times and then been told off you go walk in a straight line…. Of course if you have been there and done it we know it’s not that simple is it? actually it’s impossible! Or is it…. I’ll have to wait and see because today I started my new normal life I’ve returned to work.

I’m feeling incredibly grateful to be typing this post and although it’s tough at times I’ll take the bad days because I’m granted another day I’ll make the most of each and every one of them. Life is a journey, it’s not a destination… I’d rather not get back on that rollercoaster, I’ll take my normality any day. I’ve had many bad days but I’ve learned to appreciate everything even more. I was lucky enough to find the light at the end of the tunnel (it was dark at times) although  I don’t know what is a head of me, none of us do. I want to send anyone on this journey love and strength, look for the positives find your new normal and make it count.
much love

@shazza76   I could have written that post myself.I’m back at work too and in many ways it feels like the past 10 months happened to somebody else. I’m the same person but so much of my outlook has changed. Life has taken on a new meaning now.

Hope work is good and you’re feeling motivated and challenged.
