I had WLE and SLNB 17th December and my appointment for results was tomorrow. I’ve just had a call to say that they want to re-check the histology, get another person to look, and have re-booked my appointment for next Thursday. The nurse said that it doesn’t mean it’s bad, but that’s not how I feel. Has anyone else experienced this and was it good or bad news???
Deep breath. I think it’s a good thing to always get a second opinion or look at things because then your treatment plan will be based on evidence and medical experts. It might be that they are also wanting advice/opinion as your treatment will be based on that histology report.
I was called in for my biopsy results but my HER2 results were ‘borderline’ so they sent it away for extra testing. And in the appointment, they said sorry we can’t give you a treatment plan until we have a full few of histology.
I would see it as a good thing. Remember, you can’t ever really ‘outwit’ or ‘preplan’ along this journey by guessing things. I tried this and it was really bad for my mental health.
Take one day at a time and see it as them getting all their ducks in a row so they can give you a good treatment plan.

Thank you, you make a lot of sense, it’s so har to be rational at times. In my mind I have begun to prepare for the worst at least then there’s no big surprises xxxx
