Things that help

Hello, I started my first EC and so far having a tough time - lots of different mini symptoms and I just tend to feel everything that’s going on in my body!

Anyway I’d like to ask what are the best products to start to keep on top of things? Like nails? Skin? Lips? Mouth? I’ve been reading online but really I’d like to know what people have used that could recommend as it says a lot of don’t get this ingredient or make sure it has this etc….

With all the other side effects I’d just like to make my life a little simpler with these styles of ones :woman_facepalming:t3::pleading_face:thanks xxx

also if anyone has a good food list that’s helpful I’d appreciate!!! Different ideas!:face_blowing_a_kiss:

Have you had a Little Lifts box?

You don’t have to be at one of their partner hospitals to get one. I just got a radiotherapy box full of little treats suitable to radiotherapy treatment. They also do a chemotherapy one. You can apply here Get A Box - Little Lifts

No I haven’t I will look into that thank you x

Hi LittleBitBrave,

Thanks for posting.

It sounds like a really difficult time for you with the side affects you are experiencing during your chemotherapy treatment.

Like any treatment, EC chemotherapy can cause side effects. Everyone reacts differently to drugs with some people having more side effects than others. We are unable to recommend any specific products but it looks as though @bluetit11 has made a helpful recommendation for you to pursue.

We would also suggest that you speak to your treatment team as they may have specific recommendations for you. Macmillan Cancer Support has information about skin and nail changes and mouth problems that may be helpful

You may also find it helpful to post on the chemotherapy monthly threads part of the forum to connect with others who may in a similar situation.

Talking to someone who has had a similar experience can often be helpful. Our Someone Like Me service can match you with a trained volunteer who’s had a similar experience to you. You can be in touch with your volunteer by phone or email and they can share their personal experiences to answer your questions, offer support or simply listen to how you are feeling.

Our information about diet during breast cancer treatments may be helpful especially the section about healthy eating during chemotherapy
