This Forum is really giving me hope...

Hi Everybody,

Hope you don’t mind me posting.  Im 30 years old and just found out my mum has grade 3 BC last tuesday.  The lump is 1.5cm, she has been put on Letrozole (hormone thepary tablet) for two months to try and shrink it then hopefully if it has shrunk and moved away from the nipple then they can operate and remove it.  I just want to thank you all for writing on here, its really helped me these last few days get my head round it all and keep positive for Mum.  Im not going to lie im so scared of this long journey ahead but have to stay hopeful.  I really want to help so have signed up to the list for the BC walks/run next year.

I wish you all the very best of luck with your treatment. Keep positive!!

Stay positive and be there for each other. x

Hello Alia,

Sorry to hear about your Mum. I too am on letrozole to shrink my tumour, and wanted to tell you that it can take several months for a response.

I took letrozole for 8 months before I had any response, then a 50% reduction. Am now approaching 1 year, and will be due another check. Optimum duration is quoted as 8 to 10 months, so please do not be disheartened if there is no response in 2 months.
