This is tough!

After Mx and axillary clearance, my “follow up” is just tamoxifen…no rads, no chemo…thats it! I am one lucky bunny…but 6 months later, I am finding myself in a massive panic! I am still in pain, have a persistsant cough, and still feel like I have a golfball in my armpit! Hot flushes are amazing, and I am constantly exhausted (not just tired). Please someone tell me that this is normal??

Hi

Yes, it can be tough!

I’m on letrozole and certainly the fatigue is challenging! And from reading about ladies on tamoxifen, hot flushes can be debilitating. I  think we all struggle with anxiety as we try to move on from treatment. So I think what you’re feeling is normal. Try posting on the hormone therapy thread in relation to tamoxifen. Also we have a thread on hear where we try and support each other through anxiety, which you’re very welcome to join. Maybe worth giving your bcn a call and see if you can get an appointment with the oncologist.

I would echo what Sue has said, i would give your bcn a call just to get your armpit checked out, it is possible that you have a seroma. You could also discuss with her about your se’s to see if there is anything that they can suggest.
