Hi everone, i am due to start 6 weeks of rads next tuesday , has anyone got any tips,??
I have done the chemo ugh and had a lumpectomy which the incision is not quite healed, had an infection and it is still a bit sore.
Have got the go ahead for tues, lump was in an awkward place under the breast so in this hot weather a bit yukky.
Best wishes to you all

Hi Sarah
Isnt it just wonderful when the chemo is over? I’m halfway through my 6 weeks of rads and apart from a little redness it has all been ok so far. Just have to remember to use unperfumed soap and put plenty of aqueous cream on and keep the radiated bit out of the sun.
I hope your wound heals quickly.
Best wishes Judy
Hi Sarah,
I’ve just finished 4 wks of rads. It took me a while to shed the bra but that’s gone and wear secret support tops when out but a loose blouse/shirt only, when home. Cream with aqueuos cream x2 a day and rads team now said step it up to x3 daily for the next 2 wks. No perfume or deoderant, and simple bath stuff. Sore under breast and on nipple. Got a hand held fan to use as by 3rd week felt boob was cooking from the inside. That has brought some comfort. Sleep topless much more comforable, haven’t done that for yrs!!
Hope this is helpful.
Hi all
It’s good to hear your tips on what to avoid, what to use etc. I’ve one more FEC to go then start rads at the beginning of September.
Best wishes to you all & fingers crossed that your horrible old bc has gone for good.
