Hi I am just over a week post radiotherapy. I was a stage 1 lumpectomy with no chemo but hormone therapy. I have been working through radiotherapy and since finishing. I have found that around lunchtime my energy really flags and often I feel like I need a nap. I am told this is common and it will likely last a couple of weeks. What have the experience of others as to how long fatigue lasts and how you dealt with this if you’re working

Hi there, the side effects of radiotherapy for me were cumulative, had 15 sessions going every day and the last week I was exactly the same as you and needed to rest. I had just finished 6 months of chemo as well I suppose. I would say after about a month I started to feel the effect less, just listen to your body and give in if you need to, there’s nothing like a Nanna nap! Wishing you all the best and lots of love xx
Hi I had fatigue for many weeks and months after radiotherapy but I don’t now how much of it was due to Letrozole. I just wanted to point out that, under the Equality Act, your employer has to make “reasonable adjustments” to support you carry on working. This could be allowing you to work fewer hours or flexible hours and that would allow you to sleep or rest when you need to.
Good Luck, Elaine
