Hi everyone I am 18 months post chemo and 15 months post radiotherapy, I’m also taking tamoxifen. I’m finding that I’m still quite tired and my breast at times is sore and tender, is this normal or am I being a drama queen? Thank you xx

Hi Whiffywoo
Love the name
I am also just over 18 months since treatment finished, chemo & rads etc also on Tamoxifen, I too get exhausted I need a nap some afternoons it usually hits me about 4pm, I put it down to the Tamoxifen and disturbed sleep which is nightly now !! I used to sleep like a log but the hot flushes keep me awake on and off, As for tenderness Lots of the ladies on here have reported this some much further down the line than us so it seems to be normal, I was told a lot of nerve damage can occur through surgery and also the Rads can affect so Im sure its nothing to worry about but if you are overly concerned maybe have a word with your bcn
Good luck xx
Aww thank you ladies. Think I should listen to my body and try not to do everything at once. Thanks again for your help
xx

Hi ladies, I am 1 year post Chemo and 10 months post Radio and have been plagued with all manner of side effects! I thought there was something wrong but my GP assures me that a lot of side effects are long term ones or late onset ones, especially with Chemo. I always remember listening to Jennifer Saunders talking on a chat show a few months ago about her breast cancer treatment (which she does not do very often) and she said that she was told Chemo can take up to 18 months/2 years to work it’s way out!!! So I guess that some of the more severe S/E’s could be attributed to Chemo and will eventually fade away(please!). But don’t suffer in silence - see your GP no matter how trivial you may think it is!! I hardly ever used to go to the GP (only for a yearly thyroid blood test) but sinced the breast cancer i feel sometimes like i am always there to the point when i approach the reception desk they already have you checked in because they know you now! Nice to be popular i guess!! Lol Cheers, Michele x
Thank you so much ladies for your replies sometimes i think im being daft but im glad im not alone having these side effects but also think i might go and see my gp for a check over. Hope youre all doing fab xx
