tiredness re rads

tiredness re rads I had my eighth today and I am absolutely wasted. Is this how anyone else has felt? Expected to sail through as lots say they are a doddle. I supose they are but the tiredness is similar. Also I feel bad tempered and impatient, my two lads are looking at me like I have two heads as they are not at all used to being snapped at. Has anyone out there been crabby love Eileen

Hello Eileen

I was OK for the first week but after that got more and more tired. Most days I need to have a sleep when I get home.

I’m nearly finished - have just two left so will finish next Tuesday.

I can’t remember how many you’re having altogether . If it’s 15 then you’re halfway through now. Hang in there - it will soon be over.
Take care.

Love Anthi

Thanks for reply Anthi as you say over halfway there now. Just wanted to make sure there are fellow sufferers out there!! Still nothing can be as bad as chemo can it? Love Eileen

No - as you say - nothing can be as bad as chemo. Remember how dreadful we all felt after that first Taxotere ?

But I shall be glad to finish rads - my boob is bright red and very sore and I’ve got prickly heat on my chest - really itchy.

Take care and have a good weekend.
Love Anthi

I’m not the only one then! Hi Eileen

I have been really tired since starting rads. I had number 14 today, only 16 more to go. I have to travel approx hour and a half each way, every day. I get home, and then sleep for about 2 hours. Funnily enough I didn’t feel that tired with the chemo, and just thought that it’s just the build up of all the treatment.

Hi Eileen

Have been thinking about you. You always answer my crappy moody posts with such a caring message so thankyou for that.

I finished my rads last thur and so far, I just have a slight suntan and no soreness. Have been tired but nothing like chemo which hit me particularly hard. Looks like you are just being unlucky with the tiredness, or it is likely to be the travelling times?

I arranged hospital transport so my OH had the car incase he deemed to find work and so he couldn’t use the car issue as an excuse. So because of this, I had long waits for transport before and after treatment as well as magical mystery tours round Carlisle to drop off other patients. One day I was out of the house for 5 hours, my treatment takes 10 minutes!

I am sure none of this helped and I did get very tired but only in the last 2 days.

Got my return to work app with company doc tomorrow and the bloody daily visits to GP for the dam cyst to be dressed, but have put my foot down and I am having the car!

Take care, get plenty of rest!

Love Irene

I meant to ask, hows ya hair growing? I have about 5 mm and it looks like my own colour or maybe slightly darker is returning. Quite slow though and still patchy, thin, not thick.

Let me know I’m ‘rooting’ for you to get those eyebrows back asap!

Irene
