I had a total knee replacement in april 2021. I had nothing but problems and was found to be allergic to the metal replacement. 1 week before my surgery to remove it.I found the breast cancer. Now I am at agonizing with me pain. I cannot have the knee replacement surgery revision unless I come off the Verzenio to keep my white blood count.Add a reasonable level to avoid infection. I am on narcotic pain medication.As I also have pain from the Letrozole. Yes?
Anyone else on strong pain medication for their body aches in pains?

Hi @beyond , I’m sorry you are suffering .Is your time on Verzenio time limited or are having having it as a long-term treatment ?
I will be on Versenio for 2 years…and Lettie for 10… With God’s grace. As the Verzenio lowers my WBC…I must wait to be done before I can revise my knee replacement…It took awhile to discover the problems is a metal allergy…not too happy my surgeon never suspected it…I had to do my own homework…Thank you for your compassionate.

Sounds miserable . I have a friend who urgently needs a knee replacement revision and she’s in agony .I have a condition that affects my bones and causes stress fractures and had lots of orthopaedic surgeries, I take dihydracodeine which does take the edge off the bone pain . I hope you get some relief soon .

Thank you for your entry. I’m waiting upon a BAR surgery - its a new type of surgery to protect my shoulder from impingement. My surgeon has notice my low WBC. When i consulted my christie team they advised for me to come off Vezenios for 2 weeks prior and then return once i’d recovered following surgery. [This is similar to what i did for a tooth extraction earlier in the year, although that time and being day surgery i only came off for one week.
Currently I’m managing my pain through reiki, magnotherapy and 1 paracetamol every 3 hours as required. I’m unable to take anything stronger and don’t believe in their porperties, especially as they can damage other organs.
I don’t suffer any pain from my letrozole, only discomfort of the balance of getting my bowel activity under control. Perhaps you need to have another conversation with the team that issue you verzenios, and mention that my team have agreed to come off 2 weeks prior, perhaps you need to come off one month before, only returning once you are completely through recovery. From what i believe its more important to be on the letrozole than the Vezenios.
When my sister went through breast cancer Verzenios wasn’t on offer, ie she didn’t have it, but she did have th 10 year drug - in our case the letrozole. My sister has been 15 years cancer free.
I don’t like to hear of anyone on strong narcotic pain medication, although i do have a friend with Klippel feil that takes it. but there are no consultants in the uk to assist her, and that condition is heireditory.
Have you tried any alternatives such as Reiki or Magnotherapy, they are so worth looking into. I do hope your ‘chrisite’ consultant can guide and help you. regards Moonsox xxx
