Hi everyone, this is my first post and sorry if anyone has already asked this. I am due to start radiotherapy on the 31st August, 15 + 4 boosters. It is approximately 2hr round trip and I had planned to drive myself there and back, but after reading some of the side-effects others have had I am a bit concerned. Advice please starting to get edgy already.
Hi Laptalass
I know everyone responds differently to rads but I had no problems during the treatment and drove throughout.
All the best Anne
I too had an hour+ journey each way and although I did have someone to drive me some days, most days I drove myself and was fine. I live 'in the country" so often went to the shops after treatment- quite a treat!
Best wishes with your treatment Laptalass- and remember - not everyone has bad side effects or after effects- I had 15 sessions and no probs and found the radiographers were really nice girls- efficient and prompt!
Hi laptalass,
I also had no problems with driving. Mine was a 40m round trip and I actually preferred my own company. My rads each time were over long periods of 30+5 days.

xx
Mine was hour and a half round trip and I drove (I don’t like driving.)
I didn’t have any side effects from rads which would have stopped me.

Hi
I had a two hour round trip and drove. I had no side effects apart from a bit of soreness, so you should be OK.
Thanks everyone puts my mind at ease, public transport would be a bit of a nightmare. Just be glad when its over and done with.
