Tonight's Live Chat

Hi All

Unfortunately, we seem to be experiencing some technical difficulties with logging into live chat this evening.

We will continue to try and resolve the problem, but apologies to all who have been trying to access live chat.

Kind regards.

thanks for that a few of us have been trying. i will let them know, she thought she saw that there were 34 in there and that the room was full.

wanted to ask on live chat and didn,t get online,so could anyone help had picc line as veins bad and just had 4th chemo went for line care this week and for the third!!! time had a leak,so they removed line as can,t repair it again,Have been blamed for it happening saying I must be using it too much Have had soooo many diffiering ideas from nurses from use it normally to no bending of arm at all got so stressed about it 2nd leak couldn,t sleep, got hubby to dress me etc .Hubby phoned sister on unit told them state I was in and they were stressing me out and the way they spoke to me was unacceptable The sister said shouldn,t been made to feel like that and it could be a faulty line and you should use arm normally, but not constantly bending it,so still been very careful and had leak as i said and they took it out What we have just realized is dispite about 10 various nurses using picc line it has been the same nurse that has had the leak 3 times when doing my linecare is this coincidence? have done some reasearch and leaks can be caused by nurses putting too much pressure on them by flushing to fast.Do we say anything? really worried are they going to get a vein? am i going to get all my treatment? any of your thoughts would be appreciated thanks for listening sheena x

hi Sheena, i had my last of 8 chemo cycles on the 9th dec and used my arm throughout with no problems. I tiled the kitchen and did a lot of painting elsewhere in the house so i cant see using it is a problem. Maybe it is a faulty line, i think though worth mentioning about your concerns regarding flushing. I used to worry if things were not done properly but soon learnt that the only way to stop the worrying is to say to them what is worrying you. Good luck with the rest of your treatment.
take care
