Hi,
I was recently diagnosed, had successful surgery, and am now awaiting my first appointment to see the radiologist (I thinK) tomorrow. My cancer was caught early (Stage 1 with no metastasis and a negative lymph node biopsy), the 21 gene test I had came back as low risk and therefore I have no need for chemo. My complication is that I am based in China (currently ‘stuck’ in China due to Covid and Visa requirements) so all of my appointments and results are in Chinese (which are more or less translated) and the doctors do not always give me the kind of answers I am looking for. My ‘What happens if I don’t take this?’ question was met with ‘It will be very dangerous.’ Please note that I cannot fault the care I have received - my total time from start to now has been about 10 weeks so far, but I am not sure doctors here are so used to being questioned.
However, from looking at research, the Goserelin Acetate is for menopausal, later stage, high-risk patients and from looking at the flow charts I can find I am exactly the opposite of this. I have the Toremifene which I will start but have decided to hold off on the Goserelin until I can find out more.
I am working on getting a second opinion but in the meantime, does anyone have any experience/suggestions/words of wisdom?
Thanks!
