Hi I’m HER2+ which is what Trastuzumab/Herceptin is used to treat. My understanding in the U.K. is that it can’t be given without chemotherapy.
There is a thread called HER2+ and need some buddies, I believe there are a few people on there who didn’t have chemo/Herceptin(or Phesgo) as there cancer was caught early and the risks outweigh the benefits of the treatment.
From my experience, the injection can sting quite a bit, I had 18 cycles and after about 6/7 a nurse said she found injecting a little and the. leaving for a 30 seconds before continuing helped with the sting. It did. No lasting marks just a bit tender for a day or so at the injection site.
I would suggest calling the BCN helpline to chat this through with a nurse 0808 800 6000 m-f 9-4 sat 9-1
