Hi ladies. I wondered if you could let me know if you would be interested in a new travel/storage case for breast prostheses. I recently went on holiday and struggled to find anything suitable, apart from one that looks like a vanity case your great grandmother would have used! I’m in the process of designing something much more slimline and stylish. But before I start spending money on manufacturing, I just wanted to gauge how much interest there might be. Just a simple yes would do. Thank you so much . Anything I can do to make life a little easier for those of us navigating life after breast cancer is worth it. Love and best wishes. Judy xx

What a terrific idea ! Isn’t it surprising this particular nut has not been cracked yet. (I cart mine around in their original boxes.) All power to your elbow, lovely ‘public-spirited’ lady. Would you be considering a double version ? (I had a double mastectomy and stayed flat.)
I would certainly make use of a carrier that kept the fillets nicely nestled and stable.
I presume the size of one’s own prostheses would be relevant as to whether or not they would fit a ‘standard’ sized inner (unless it could be made to be adjustable somehow).

Hi MistyK. Thank you so much for your encouragement. It’s very early days yet and I’m still asking lots of questions of people in the know. Yes the idea for a double mastectomy version is very on the cards. A professional breast prosthesis fitter has told me that there are only two sizes of boxes that the fillets (haha) come in and they will fit in one of them just fine. I’m a size 9 and mine came in the larger box apparently. I’m at the stage of submitting my concept and sketches to a design company. Let’s keep in touch. Hell yes! Love this idea- some funky travel cases would be fun. I swim a lot & have a separate prothesis for that, so would use it all the time. This is so exciting. Why hasn’t this been thought of before! Go girl. X
