Travel insurance help

Hello
Can anyone recommend a travel insurance company while you are still having treatment (just Phesgo now)? I was told to try ‘insurance with’ but when I called them they said they needed to know all the side effects I had from all my treatment and every drug I’ve had during treatment even if it was for a side effect and I only took it momentarily and am not taking it now. I can’t remember all that info!
I’m going to Italy so not a high risk destination.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hi @jayesse I hope you have a lovely trip!

In case you’re interested, there was a conversation about this earlier in the year on this thread that you may find useful: Holiday travel insurance support - Going through breast cancer treatment / Top tips and practical support - Breast Cancer Now forum

I use Allclear. Booked it online, they didnt ask specific questions about every last tablet. :slightly_smiling_face:

Both fine.

I used InsureandGo to travel to Finland during chemo, and more recently to Spain. Their online application has breast cancer specific questions.

Thank you. I’ll check that one out too! X

I was due to go away and had to cancel holiday as got diagnosis and chemo was going to start.
They haven’t made it easy, they want a load of info from gp (that onc letters have already provided) so am still trying to get that sorted.
Anyway, my insurance was with the AA, underwritten by AXA I believe, so I would avoid them if I were you!

Hi
I got my insurance with Leisure Guard which I found by going on the website www.payingtoomuch.com which were very good and gave me a variety of options to choose from.

I went with InsureandGo this year and had quotes from several companies. I did use Insurance With last year but whilst the cancer quote was not too bad they slaughtered me on charges for other issues, musculoskeletal, hayfever and reflux acid and my excess went up by £300 (totalled £600) and the quote price nearly doubled (for a two week Scandanavian cruise). I compared them again with a few others this year and again their excess was a lot more than others so I decided to use them again.

InsureandGo didn’t ask the indepth questions that the other company did (e.g., side effects of treatment and medication taken) so I rang them up just to confirm I was actually covered as I have on-going issues and yes I a covered.

Thank you for that. I’m going through them all and comparing prices. Don’t really like doing it on line because there are some circumstances the system doesn’t cover e.g. some online medical questions don’t offer the possibility to say you are still having phesgo despite the chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy all being finished. Xx

So glad to be of help

Hi, just wondering if you got your insurance sorted? I’m not on phesgo, only Tamoxifen, but I got a decent price from All Clear. It stressed me out a lot finding a policy, and took hours of my time and a lot of brain power! I didn’t declare any of the meds for nausea, pains, white tongue etc which I had during chemo. I did declare the things I needed a specific prescription for which was UTI, skin infection and dry eyes. So they were things caused by chemo, but not the standard nausea type things, if you know what I mean. Tbh it never occurred to me to declare the anti sickness meds and mouthwash given to me by the chemo nurses so I hope that was ok. I’m kind of glad to hear someone else had no success with Insurancewith as it’s the one everyone recommends and I thought I must be doing something wrong! Hope you have a lovely time in Italy :sunglasses:
