Hi I’ve also posted in the travel insurance part of the forum but my problem is specific to diagnosis and a lot of the advice over there didn’t fit with my situation or experience of contacting insurers - apologies if I missed a thread!
I’m finding that no insurers - including the specialists that people otherwise recommend for BC (insurance with etc) - will cover an undiagnosed medical condition/condition under investigation. I had BC three years ago and am currently being investigated for a possible second primary. The process is taking a long time (I’ve had two unsuccessful biopsies so far - coming back as B4) and unfortunately we have a large pre-booked extended family holiday coming up - which falls before my next biopsy. I’ve also explored having travel insurance to cover other risks (accident, theft etc) but with the BC as an exclusion (I have a global health card which hopefully would cover that unlikely possibility) - but that’s also proved unsuccessful so far. Has anyone else had better luck with travel insurance prior to diagnosis? Its so frustrating - it would actually be more straightforward if one of the biopsies had come back as definite cancer as then the specialist insurers would cover.
