Hi I didn’t know where to post this. I looked up buying some travel insurance last night and I reckon my premium has been loaded by about £100.00 due to my recent BC. Anyone have any advice about specialist company or approach? The joke is I reckon I am healthier than my husband who gets through any screening questions!
I got my insurance with Insurance With. Under £400 for annual cover Two months after chemo and two weeks after rads.
Hi all
we had a holiday to Dominican Republic booked for 14 Jan (should be there now) but I was diagnosed on 25 November, surgery on 30 December so went to travel agents and delayed until 18 march, latest date we could get without losing £1000! But the travel insurance quotes we had were horrendous! Anyway my husband shopped around and we eventually found one having given all details that was only £150 more. I will find out the name and post here for information for you all. BTW seeing oncologist today to plan radiotherapy but now worried as boob has swollen and is more sore/tender than ever been since surgery, so just hope it is not a problem and delays treatment. Ha! How selfish is that comment after all everyone has/is going through! I guess I am tired as I have been up for hours with the pain I am usually so positive!
Hi as promised the company we used is Insurance Choice … happy holiday x
Hi
Last Year I was looking for travel insurance and quite frankly it was a really bad experience. I tried all the ones recommended on the Macmillan and Breast Cancer sites. I have Secondary breast cancer. I was asking for yearly insurance. The quotes were ridiculous over a £1000 and in one case I was refused - I might not live that long.
Well a friend said try Comparethemarket.com. Well nothing to lose I tried just for a week well it came up with ridiculous quotes again. One being Saga, only £576 for a week. Half way down the screen it said “did you know you can get yearly travel insurance”, again nothing to lose so I clicked the link, it came up with 2 options 1 being Saga for £48 a year. That’s right £48!!! I continued kept going back checking all the details were still there. They were. So I took it so I got annual travel insurance with Secondary Breast Cancer on a daily chemo tablet and other ongoing medication for £48.
It might be worth a try comparethemarket.com and I ended up with Saga and a very comprehensive cover.
sorry for the long winded reply. Hope it helps all looking for travel insurance.
That’s really useful as I’m planning a holiday later this year … last time the insurance cost me a fortune! ?
I’ve heard that Staysure are quite good too ladies!!
Happy holidays xx
