I am just so sorry that you are delaing with this challenge to your health and thinking of you.
I don’t have secondary breast cancer, but I have a brca1 mutation and have had breast cancer twice, having a recurrence in 2012.
You don’t say whether you have a hormonally positive, or her positive cancer. I only know that brac1 is often associated with a triple negative breast cancer. If any of these things apply you could go and look at the 'triple negative secondaries/recurrences thread. I have copied this thread because the lady who posted (moondog) desribed a positive response from carboplatin, and also a developing treatment. I had also heard about parp inhinbitors but you would need to research this.
Another member, Lulu34 has a brca mutation (hers is brca2) and she has a secondary diagnosis. You could pm her.

Hello ladies, it’s been a long time since i’ve posted on the forum, so i’ll give a quick update. Stage IV, triple neg diagnosed with secondaries in May last year. Had Carboplatin which nuked the cancer and i’ve been well since October 2012. Hi to you all. Just thought i’d drop by because there’s a promising new TN treatment called copper depletion therapy, i’ve asked thew girls at BCC about it and will raise it my next onc appointment, but i thought this article may make you smile, 5 1/2 years!! weill.cornell.edu/news/releases/wcmc/wcmc_2
Hi rattles and lulu,
Many thanks for your responses.
Lulu - I’m brca 2 as well. If you could find out about the trial. Iv heard about parp inhibitors but not sure how effective they are.
