I am new here and in the process of deciding on chemo regimen, anyone had TC with herceptin for early triple positive? Seems most people have FEC-T? My tumour is 1.4 cm IDC HR8/PR8 HER +ve, node negative.
Hi Chas, sorry you have had no replies…my cancer is er+ 5/8 and her2+. I have had 3 fec and 3 docetaxol with herceptin and pertuzemab. I have one more to go and will then have a masectomy. I am doing ok.
Perhaps post on the chemo monthly board - you may find smeone there having similar treatment to you. Good luck xx
Chas,
Hi there, I’ve just joined the forum. I’m triple positive with a tumour less than 2cm and am 42 years old.
My Oncologist recommended I start chemotherapy immediately and I am on TCH (Taxotere, Herceptin and Carboplatin) together with Pertuzamb. I am about to have my third round of chemo and am just waiting for some of my liver function levels to recover after round 2 (have been delayed 2 weeks).
I was also offered the surgery option first, but my Oncologist said Pertuzamb was particularly effective at reducing tumour mass if used straight away, and could mean less invasive surgery.
So it’s chemo, surgery then radiotherapy for me. The side effects have been tiredness, flu like aches and pains, some nausea and heartburn. Effects have varied between treatments.
Hope the information is helpful. All the best with your treatment.
Rosie

Am new here and have 3 cm tumour oestrogen + and HER2+ started 1of3 FEC chemo last Thursday will be followed by T herceptin and pertuzamab.
Apologies for being naive but what is the triple positive? Has been so much to take in am not sure if I was tested for anything else? Xx
My tumour is simlar to youre diagnosis …i am due to start chemotherapy tomorrow. Very unsure if i really want chemotherapy then surgery then radiotherapy . i live alone my daughter cant face any of it so she stays away
I am HR8/PR8 and HER2+ 1.0 cm tumour. .been offered the lot but chosen to just go for the target therapy and that’s it. I have changed my diet to organic and almost vegan with lots of antioxidants.
I will not be taking the hormone blockers and the other drug to manage those side effects. There are amazing in vitro and in vivo results for CBD oil.
Good luck but the MHRA only state chemotherapy in conjunction with Herceptin and Perjeta…on their SPC…not a specific type so talk to your oncologist about choices.
There is recent research that shows high oestrogen result with HER2+ can mean the tumour is slower growing than just HER2+ with hormone negative. Mine has not grown in 2 months…yet in previous 12 months went from undetectable to 1.0cm.
Thank you all for your responses, haven’t checked the site for ages and hadn’t realised anyone responded! I went for fec-t in the end and finished three weeks ago with no major issues and kept most of my hair with the cold cap! Ali49, Rosiekayak and Lady. H I was only offered offered herceptin, are you all in England? Lady H triple positive is oestrogen, progesterone and HER2 positive. Hope you all doing ok after surgeries etc Interested to know your choices of hormone treatments?
