Treatment in Spain

Hi all,

Just wondering if there is anyone out there who can tell me about cancer treatment in Spain?

I’m currently in the UK but I used to live in Barcelona (still have my residency). I was planning a move back to Barcelona but then I got my cancer diagnosis and I ended up postponing the plan to move until after treatment was over. I’m coming to the end of my treatment (chemo, surgery, rads and herceptin) now but I get conflicting feelings about the move because whilst I know that it’s not going to make me happy to stay long term in the UK (and after cancer you really crave happiness) I’m worried about doing my follow-up abroad because I’ll need Tamoxifen and probably scans I imagine and even though my Spanish is great I always used to get so nervous doing ‘official procedures’ there because of the bureaucracy.

If there is anyone there that could tell me about treatment in Spain and whether it’s easy to get things like Tamoxifen I’d be really grateful. I still have my tarjeta sanitaria.

Hi MissE85 - I’m sorry I can’t answer your question, but I wonder if there is a similar breast cancer charity in Spain who might be able to help you with the answers to your questions?

I wish you all the very best, Evie xx
