I have finally gone through all my appointments and now have my treatment plan. Because I’m 30 and my tumor was grade 3 chemo was strongly suggested to me. I am going to do four cycles of TC chemo, followed by 6 weeks of radiation and 5 years of tamoxifen. I’m mostly scared that the chemo will push me into early menopause as we do not have children yet. My oncologist would not approve me doing an IVF cycle as my tumor was 95% hormone positive and the IVF cycle would expose me to too many extra hormones. I discussed zoladex as an option to have durning chemo and I believe that is what we are going to do just incase. He told me 35% of women who are premenopausal will be pushed into menopause during chemo. At this point I’m sad, but will be will be. I’m happy I’m only doing 4 cycles. I’m sure it will fly by!

Hi Hopeful, sorry I haven’t checked here for a few days but noticed you have your treatment plan now. Have you started chemo yet?. I hope all is well xx
Hi althought my cancer was stage 2 it was hormone fed. I have had IVF and they give you a tablet to take alongside the hormones to act as a buffer, my oncologist referred me the day I got my results. I dont have to have chemo but am having Radiotherapy and Tamoxifen for five years. Please feel free to inbox if you want to ask any questions. x
I’ve been on tamoxifen since middle of January and have since combined it with monthly zoladex injections in last few weeks and so far okay and no real side effects but who knows as it’s still early days!
I started radiotherapy last week and have noticed I’ve become a lot more tired however but that could just be all the rushing around and appointments every day.
Glad to hear you are getting on well. All the best for your next one.
