Karen, Ibrance is palbociclib. There is a thread on it on here. A few ladies are on it. It is taken with a hormonal. The hormonal is taken every day. Ibrance is taken 3 weeks on, one week off. It is first started out at 125mg dose. A lot of people have trouble with white blood count and their dose is lowered. I have been on it for 16 months. I seem to tolerate the ibrance well. My white count has been a little low at the end of every cycle, but not low enough to change anything. Last month it did hit rock bottom so they made me skip the last 3 days of my cycle. It came back up. We checked it this week for the end of this cycle and it is what it has been every other cycle. My first scan after 3 months I was stable. My next scan at 9 months had reduction in every tumor. I also have a condition from the cancer called ground glass opacity in my lungs, This was gone. Pleural effusion completely gone too.  My scan at 15 months was stable . Tumors were the same and no pleural effusion. They were slightly concerned bc they could see something in the one lung, but couldn’t tell what it was. We decided to go another 3 months with ibrance and scan again to see if it’s still working. I do have a rash on my legs called petechiae. This is usually caused by low blood platelets, but mine are fine. They feel its just a reaction to chemo. I do have severe joint pain in knees that is from the letrozole. I go up the steps like an old lady. I can no longer walk up them alternating legs. My knees started to scream at me 2 weeks after starting the letrozole. I didn’t realize til spring that I couldn’t do the steps correctly. I had been walking up like an old lady bc of pain. I went to walk up correctly and couldn’t. I started doing exercises to help. My legs are stronger, but still can’t do the steps correctly. I do need my knees replaced bc of arthritis, so this doesn’t help. Hope all if this helps. Good luck!

Hi Karen
I start ibrance and letrazole tommorow so hopefully we can keep in touch to discuss. The website Inspire is brilliant it’s American as they have trailed it for the last 2 years . The side affects are numerous but similar to chemo that was 4 years ago for me . Good luck keep in touch
