Hope results good Jill from lung biopsy and wasnt too unpleasant.
Am expecting 16 of 18 paclitaxol tomorrow but new node popped up literally overnight under collarbaone so have appt with dt thurs. I am still to have taxol this week. Seems smaller again today but still there so having another wobble as I keep fighting and just keep getting hit. Hope is nothing as want a break from chemo after 12 months of 15 on it now. So tired with kids of 3 and 1 and they seem to have constant bugs. Am up to taking them out for half of every day now in week which is improvement but so not what I had planned or wanted.

gosh Sadie chemo no 25!!! thats some amount of swamp juice you have had! shops in glasgow are fab… i used to work in glw and commute from edin and loved walking up sauchiehall street.

and yes i am one of the 20 models taking part in the glasgow BCC fashion show… should be lots of fun and im looking forward to it so much… always dreamed of being a model since i was a wee girl but just not model material thank god the only criteria BCC has is that you have had BC doesnt matter what you look like or how tall or skinny you are LOL

Had the lung biopsy, not pleasant but had to be done. The radiologist said that there was slightly more fluid ( not that I can tell) in there and obviously it shouldn’t be there, he said it will be more chemo, but my mum was diagnosed with bc last month and they now want to do other tests. Avastin has been mentioned but wether I get funding or not is a different matter!!! My next appointment with the oncologist is on the 4th oct, not sure how much more we can take to be honest.

I’ve had a nice few days in the sunshine with my mum + dan. Looking forward to a lie in tmoro whilst dan in nursery ! Haven’t heard from the hospital re follow up appts. Enjoying the treatment break but wana crack on with more chemo asap, altho it’s my birthday in 3wks + i’m hoping to enjoy that 1st! Never in a million years was I expecting another birthday after the grim prognosis I received last year so we will hav2 do sumthin extra special

Hi ladies
The saga continues; the venogram went ahead yesterday as planned, weird experience especially when showed the scans, the line looked like a ham sandwich! Hospital rang late this afternoon going in at 10:00 tomorrow to have it removed and the new one will be put in next Thursday & chemo will resume next Friday, so will have missed two.
Does mean I can go with one sister to surprise dad on his 87th birthday on Saturday bless him, he & mum will be delighted to see me as they live near Loughborough 70 miles up the motorway.
Thankfully feel goodish today - isn’t the weather fab & it’s going to continue hooray.
Sadie hope you aren’t having ses, nice to see this thread has quietened down must be the weather!
Had a laugh today OH said to look at the meercats on eBay, there are loads & fetching £40 - £60 these are the ones given free with compare the Market.com hubby drives for Royal mail & says each night there is a crate of them so if people think they are getting a collectable they have been had & that’s muster Worcester LOL

Sorry I know this has nothing to do with this thread but I’m sat here having a major hot flush and its not because of the weather
Oh yes I better explain -I’ve just got out of the bath and walked into the bedroom - but I forgot that we’re decorating and no curtains up. The vicar is my neighbour - he lives opposite!
Anyhow - I do hope everyone has enjoyed the lovely weather today and those of you currently having treatment are not suffering too badly with SEs.

Tina, Yes, gone a bit quiet!! So, here is my bit…
Carboplatin started on Monday. Tuesday was ok…wednesdays a bit worse…today, pants!! Shattered!!! But the thought of this being every three weeks and not the weekly taxol / avastin ive just finished is FANTASTIC!!!
Jo (and steve) , i do hope things are moving in the right ditection now.

sorry to hear ur shattered. How are the other se’s? Are u taking steroids? I only ask coz I was prescribed 3days worth per cycle + I found I felt AWFUL on the few days that followed. I had a real steroid crash that was worst around day 6 it was dreadful. Felt really weak, shaky etc + ended up ditching tge steroids altogether after suffering the se’s for the 1st 2 cycles. Sleeping tabs defo helped me sleep on the steroids + my onc told me to wean off the steroids to see if it helped rather than taking full dose for 3 days + jyst stopping.

Hi Tina, my Reg gave me four days of steroids, so i come off them tomorrow. So if there is a crash it will be tomorrow - oh joy!! I’ll see how it goes nd discuss it with my Reg. She is fairly hopeless so may email my Onc. But i’ll see how i go. It is mainly the v v tired alongside hot flush heaven that is getting to me. But as i said, SO exciting that this is every three weeks, not having to face this again on monday!!

sadie- I would split your steroids next cycle, + take half doses for a few days before finishing. Then the crash shouldn’t be so bad. I find it’s a few days later when I crash coz steroids must linger in system 4a while. You should be much better during your 2wks off fingers X’d! Yes I liked my new onc, haven’t heard anything since our appt but will call her next week. So worried about my chest wall. Still wheezing so not sure what’s causing that?! Big night out on sat for hubby’s bday can’t wait gona splash out on sum champers 4us all xx

Was just after a bit of advice, my primary bc was hormone positive, i have bone mets which have not responded to the hormones as spread fast and aggressively, when i saw onc today he said he thinks my cancer has done a ‘flip’ and could possibly be neg??? due to start chemo soon (not sure what yet as meeting next month after ct scan to discuss) Is this something thats happened to any of you? ive not heard of it changing before???
Hi tracey sorry to hear your having a hard time Yes the hormone + her2 status can change as the cancer progresses. It’s fairly rare but it happens. The only way to be sure is to biopsy new spread if possible. Good luck with ur ct scan- hopefully there is no new spread+ the chemo will get things under control 4u. Keep posting xx
