Hello im shannon 30 recently diagnosed in october with high grade dcis and invasive ductal carcinoma stage 2 grade 2 triple positive.
Just had my first treatment today of chemotherapy 1/6 doxetaxol phesgo etc.
Im just reaching out as i have been following some stories on here with similar journeys.
After im finished my chemotherapy and it will be a mastectomy for my left side as the dcis is a large area, i will most likely be using deip flap which im unsure how it will look as my tummy is covered in tattoos, i will most like get a double as i am obly 30 i am terrified that something grows in the other side and i want to do everything i can to reduce this risk.
Has anyone got positive triple positive stories or experiences with double mastectomy and reconstruction?
It’s been five years since my diagnosis. Stage 2, grade 3, 1.7 cms. I have 5 more years of letrozole. Side effects are joint pains, hot flashes and tiredness.
Hello, sorry to hear you have started this journey, but you will be fine. I was same as you, but grade 3 triple postive, diagnosed age 36. I am nearly 19 years, whoop whoop, since diagnosis. I am fit and well and planning a half ironman to celebrate 20 years !!! Keep going , you will ge to a new normal soon .
