Triple positive with supraclavicular node involvement - advice needed pls

Hello all you lovely ladies,

I have been lurking on this forum since my mum’s breast cancer diagnosis garnering as much information as I can until the wee hours of the mornings. May I say that your personal stories have armed me with the right advice as well as the reassurance I needed in these trying times. So, thank you!

My mum has triple positive breast cancer with axillary and supraclavicular lymph node involvement. It’s the latter which scares me as her specialist mentioned that these lymph nodes are inoperable but she believes treatment (6 rounds of doxetacel, carboplatin, herceptin and perjeta and then 5 weeks of radiation) will shrink them. I am a natural born pessimist so I can’t stop wondering about the what ifs?

I have read some journal articles where the supraclavicular nodes have been removed but this doesn’t seem to happen in Australia so I would appreciate if anyone could share their experiences or offer any advice.

Cheers,
Chrissie
