Trying to control this anxiety

Well I’ve spoken to the specialist who after comparing my mammigrams is 95 per cent sure I have a cyst in my breast so hopefully ultrasound tomorrow and job done. Just got to actually get to the breast clinic now as my anxiety is out of control

I’m sorry to read you’re feeling anxious about your appointment tomorrow.  If you need additional support whilst you are going through this, do give the BCC helpline a call on 0808 800 6000.  Here you can share your thoughts and concerns with a member of staff who will offer you a listening ear as well emotional support and practical information. Lines are open weekdays 9 to 5pm and Saturday 10 to 2pm.

it’s hard not to be anxious. Anxiety is a perfectly normal reaction to what you’re going through. If you’re suffering very badly, can your doctor give you something to help you through?

 

It’s very hard to think positive thought right now, but do remember this:

 

  1. You went for your mammogram appointment

  2. You got through it

  3. Your surgeon is 95% certain it’s a cyst

  4. If that is the case, then that’s it! Nothing more to worry about.

 

Anxiety is a very powerful thing. I coped by doing things like puzzles and crosswords; any games that would occupy my brain. That, along with some medication to keep me on the straight and narrow…

 

Do whatever you need to, to get through tomorrow. It’ll all be worth it, I promise. And, as I discovered, even if the news isn’t so good, it’s much better once you know. Even if you have cancer, it’s a great relief to find out, and then move forward onto a treatment plan.

 

By the sounds of it, you have nothing to worry about, so try and stay focused and deal with things a step at a time.

I’m exactly the same Hun, I’ve have to be put on a high dose of medication and referred to a specialist therapist to help me control my anxiety disorder! I am waiting for an appointment to have a scan done because the breast surgen found a lump and wants it checked! I am terrified of the worst! It’s effecting my work and my life it’s horrible! Hope you get the good results xx

Hi Ladies finally managed to go to the hospital after cancelling my appointment twenty minutes beforehand. It was a cyst which they drained there and then so just to go for my mammogram next year. Am so relived that’s over now it’s time to address this anxiety disorder I have x

Hey mel, thank you it’s great to hear some support from someone who knows exactly what your going through! Your right I just want to know so I can know what’s next, I just feel so scared for my children they are all so young and need there mummy! Hope your ok xxx
