I am due to see the ps this week with regards to reconstruction, been trying to read lots, but not getting anywhere!!
Has anyone had the TUG flap reconstruction (Inner Thighs)
Everyone seems to be having the DIEP or TRAM, thought the inner thigh sounded ok!

Hi Sandra, no when I saw the PS he never mentioned TUG to me - I think its because of have enough ‘flesh’ on my tummy to give me a new boob - I think they go for Thighs or bums for ladies who are on slimmer and not have excessive stomach fat.
The alternative he gave me was to take flesh from my back and ‘flip’ it over but with this one I would have to have a implant as well - the downside to that is that implants don’t last for ever and need replacing every couple of years. With a DIEP its a one off operation and the flesh is you and grows (or shrinks) as you do and requires no further treatment. Not sure if a TUG would do this its worth asking the question though. From what l understand the TUG is the same as DIEP so as you say obviously for those that don’t have much stomach fat!! l wish!
Like the idea of it growing with me! you know what it is like Christmas and Easter, the stomach just seems to grow!!
