- Started with diagnosis of Locally advanced Breast cancer - 7 X 7 cms lump b/w Breast and Armpit - Stage -3
- Tumor was marked T4bN1M0 with one lymph node involved
- Biopsy said ER+, PR -(external control positive) and Her-2 Negative
- Started with Ne0 adj chemo with plan of 3 X FEC and 3 X docetaxol
- Had heavy Biopy site infection with oozing for almost 2 months - managed by taking antibiotics
- Now Tumor Size increased by 2 cms - measuring 9 cms
Onco says that I did not respond to 3X FEC, so they have put me on weekly PACLITAXEL - Completed 1 cycle.
I’m extremely worried about the situation. Can some one please advice?
Hi, how very distressing for you. I think perhaps you would be better to post this on the nurses advice section. I’m not a medical person, just someone with cancer, and really the only thing I can do is give you a gentle hug. Are you a UK resident, as I don’t recognise some of the terminology? Perhaps you should seek advice from the nurses section. If it were me I would be questioning my Onco and team until I DID understand it all. There is a downloadable leaflet on here which would help with your pathology report, but only if you are in the uk. X
Hi Kuttirkannama
I was diagnosed with locally advanced IDC in May 18, the tumour was 9cm, with lymph node involvement.
I had 4 EC, then 12 weekly Paclitaxal, due to an autoimmune condition, I could not have doclitaxol, by the time I had the mastectomy, the tumour shrunk by 3cm, surgery removed the rest of the tumour.
My story is slightly different to yours, however the weekly paclitaxol
did do something and because the tumour was at the front of my Breast, the surgeon removed it without issue.
I am now clear and I’m having my reconstruction in Jan.
I hope you find my story helpful.
Take care
