i had mx in sept grade 3 tumour was 5 cm have never been told about clear margins but most posts on here do …should i ask or would it add to worry? also when we have node clearance how is it i had 12 my cousins wife only 8 yet some women have 30 or more removed could i have nodes that r still there?just pondering although it doesnt always do…thankyou all

I’m certainly no expect but I would have thought that it’s only those of us who have WLE (breast conserving surgery) that would have any margins to speak of. I would think that as a mx takes everything away it’s just a done deal.
On the node front, everyone is different. Some people only have as little as 5 and others up to 30. I personally don’t know how many I’ve got (or had) because the 5 sentinal nodes removed were all clear so I didn’t have to go for a full clearance.
Why don’t you give the helpline a quick call tomorrow to put your minda at rest about the clear margin bit.
