Hi, I had a lump a few weeks ago and went to the doctors also with an ear infection. I was given anti biotics for the ear and told to come back in a few weeks if the lump remained. The lump is under my arm, but towards my chest. The lump seemed to go down whilst I was taking the anti biotics (I certainly didn’t notice it) however it came back about a week after the anti biotics. I booked a doctors appointment for two weeks ago , that was yesterday, the lump seems to be about 2 cmish. When I put my arm up the lump isn’t as visiable. It was painful/ uncomfortable at first, but not as much now. The doctors examined me and said the side I have the lump my Breast is slightly lumpy. I have been referred to a breast clinic - I am now really worried . Has any one else had this ? I am only 25 and never thought I would be referred to a breast clinic at this age. I hope it’s nothing serious but am just worried. I am waiting for the letter which I hope comes soon . Thanks everyone.
Hi jade,
Yes, it is common & it is normal procedure for your gp to refer anyone with a lump to the breast clinic. No gp can tell exactly what it is just by feeling it, only the clinic can give you the all clear.
At the appointment you will have another examination, then most likely an ultrasound, you may get the all clear then or a mammogram or possibly a biopsy will be needed if it’s not clear what it is. If on the off chance, you have a biopsy, then there’s another week or two for the results.
It is highly unlikely to be anything serious, so try to put it to the back of your mind for now.

Hi Ann thank you for replying and explaining the procedure. I think the worst part is waiting . Hopefully I will get an appointment before Christmas. Thanks again
Hi Jade,
i also have a lump under my right armpit. I went to docs and she did urgent referral so I’m at the clinic on Monday 12th. It’s awful waiting (13 days) but the wait is nearly over.
I have the lump about 6 weeks now. I left it at first as I thought it would have went away on its own. It is like a wee hard pea and not sore (apart from me poking it lol to see if it was still there! Doc said she couldn’t feel around it and would have liked to be able pick it up between her fingers?
Faimily history is is sister with breast cancer at 36. She’s 48 now and just fine.
I have found this this forum really helpful just reading various posts on the waiting game and good news stories for most. The waiting really is the worst and I have found all the tips on keeping busy really help.
I hope you wont have to wait too long Jade and post updates on how you are getting on as I have logged to see how people are doing after their posts.
Best wishes
Patricia
Bless you…what a kind thing to say Helena. ?

Hi Charys,
Thank you for your lovely post. I felt totally lost after seeing my doctors on Friday, and googling all these horrible web pages. I feel so much better finding this forum and speaking with people who are going through the same thing.
Thank you for being so reassuring and kind.
Thank you jade
Hi Jade,
Good news today. It was a sebaceous cyst. So relieved and I’m glad the waiting is over. Really quick during appointment for the triple test. I hope you are ok too and continue to get all the support you need from here.
Best set wishes and good luck for your appointment xxx
