Under wired bra

I had a lumpectomy in early January and have healed really well and currently having chemotherapy which will be until mid July followed by radiotherapy. Am I ok to wear underwired bras again now I’m healed please? I have read mixed reviews about what I should and shouldn’t do. Thanks

Hello kate68

Thanks for posting. It can be difficult to know whether wearing an underwired bra is ok after breast cancer surgery when you have read mixed reviews.

As explained in our information about bras after surgery you can wear an underwired bra as long the area has healed completely, and the bra fits well, otherwise it can be uncomfortable.

You may also find it helpful to read our information about having radiotherapy once your chemotherapy has finished. If you experience any skin changes or soreness during radiotherapy you may find it more comfortable to wear a soft bra.
