I went to get a lump checked that I wasn’t too worried about. As expected it was a simple cyst on US. Both breasts were scanned with two fibroadenonas having grown significantly and classed BI-RADS 4a.
I had a biopsy of right breast yesterday and will do the left one next week.
Yesterday there was a nurse, sonographer and Dr. The sonographer did the US to find the lumps on the referral to biopsy for the Dr before he came in. She took a while doing that, then said she’ll go get the Dr and that took a long time. He came in and said she had found another lump that they will also biopsy today if I didn’t mind. I kept my cool and said I’m happy to have them all biopsied. This lump was not discovered on the original US.
They did the two (hopefully) fibroadenomas then the new one. They let me be positioned so I could see it all on the screen.
The third one was so interesting to watch. I don’t know how she even saw it. When he was getting the needle in, I could see another one right next to it and asked if it was another one but they didn’t answer. When he shot the needle through, he definitely shot it through two lumps at once and I heard him say ‘I got both’.
How worried should I be? I know we only have lumps biopsied at all if they’re suspicious, so for a lump that’s only just been seen and decide then and there to biopsy that one also I feel is concerning.
I was already worried and obsessing since I got the report. Now I’m next level anxious.
