I am not new to the forum but new to posting.

Last year I was diagnosed with DCIS of the left breast and underwent WLE, re-excision and five days radiotherapy.

Recently had my one year mammogram only to receive a call back due to changes in my right breast. After further tests including ultrasound they found a number of small cysts (4/5) and a ‘shadow’ none of which were present last year. I have had a number of biopsies taken the shadow and now waiting for the results.

I cannot express my gratitude to the staff, their care and vigilance but feel like I am back to square one waiting and shocked things can change so quickly.

So sorry to hear you’re back waiting for results. I’m undergoing chemo for my original issue but have had three further breast lumps investigated since starting treatment and that fear was strong with each one. Luckily two of those were cysts and were aspirated immediately but the other one was solid so was biopsied. Thankfully the results came back benign.

I really hope this turns out to be nothing for you but I know the waiting is rough so sending you a virtual handhold in the meantime. x

A virtual hug from here too. The fear/wait are so consuming. Fingers crossed that this turns out to be nothing sinister as has already been said.

No real update however I am expecting/hoping for a benign result as I was allocated a telephone appointment rather than a face to face one. Unfortunately it is on one of the dates I had informed them that I was not available due to my son’s wedding.

I am sure I will be able to discuss the results with someone at a later date.

Had a vacuum assisted biopsy this afternoon. Back to waiting for the results and decision/next steps from MDT.

So no real update just a confusing conversation with the breast care team.

my case is being discussed at MDT on 1st September and I am booked a phone call on 8th September. I was so pleased on receiving this information as it felt that it there was anything of concern found it would not be discussed by telephone. On expressing this with the Breast Care Nurse she informed me that they may be calling because I MAY need further tests before they decide the pathway I am on. However I MAY also not require tests and it could be a more positive call.

I currently have no idea how to process this and what it means but have thirteen days prior to finding out.

Waiting is just the worst - sending big hugs . No way to get through it but keep busy and try to find moments of joy through doing things you love when you can . Xx

Thank you. It would have been good for them to say that.

I feel the wait this year seems worse than last year because I am more aware of the complexities of the pathways if it is malignant.

I don’t think before my diagnosis last year I was aware of the different breast cancers at all.

This morning I received a letter for a face to face appointment with the breast surgeon in four weeks time.

I had previously been informed I had a telephone appointment on the 8th September to discuss the results of my biopsies. I telephoned the breast unit and it was confirmed that a breast care nurse is ringing me on the 8th to discuss the report and any possible tests I might need.

I am now concerned what the report states and I am not looking forward to waiting seven days for this to be discussed with me

Has anyone else had this experience?

Thank you for reply. The call was positive.

They have found atypical cells in the biopsy at 4 o’clock. Due to the cells not being normal they are looking to remove them all via surgery just ensure they are all benign. They are unable to do the surgery at the moment due to the hematoma from the last biopsy.

The nurse was unsure whether this would be via local excision or a WLE that decision needs to be discussed with the surgeon.

That sounds like a great result re biopsies. Hopefully, you can have a date diarised for when the haematoma has reduced . Fingers crossed and gentle hugs
