Has anybody experienced problems after mri with contrast dye I had one on Monday was not well straight away after it felt dizzy and very sick that settled then I had a rash on my arm Tuesday eve I had a bad back and signs of cystitis had a bad night back pain got worse went to the gp she sent urine test and gave me some antibiotics but sent me for urgent bloods as query the dye had affected my kidneys had a rough night last night sweating aching and I’ve been told by the gp my kidney function is affected and it should correct itself in a week and I need more bloods to check on this I’m very worried and today I’m so tired I’ve been in bed most of the day and hope this won’t affect surgery the team are meeting tomorrow to discuss me and give me my treatment options I’d only just calmed down a little since diagnosis and was able to eat a little better and think straight as well xxx
Oh no , that’s all you need isn’t it ! I had reaction to CT scan contrast ( twice ) made me very paranoid for future scans The contrast used for MRIs is different but if you are sensitive to these things it’s horrible and scary . They can do the scans without contrast but it makes it a bit more difficult to see what’s going on .Hope you are feeling better soon .
I have heard of people having reactions to the contrast dye used for MRIs and scans before - hopefully it will be out of your system soon and you will feel better . Rest as you need to and drink plenty of water and make sure that when you have your next hospital appointment that you tell them that you have had an adverse reaction and that it gets recorded in your hospital notes. I do hope you feel better soon xx
Thanks I feel a little better today I phoned the breast care nurse and told her and I did have some good news the sizing of the tumour is the same as the ultrasound scan and I’ve got an appointment to discuss treatment options on Tuesday
Thanks all for the support in this journey xx
I had a ct scan and some hives in my arm after that but it did not last long and did not make me feel ill hope your doing well on your journey xx
Thankyou feeling more myself today xx
I’m glad to hear that . It’s always scary when something like this happens and you always worry that it’s going to delay things but I doubt that’s going to be the case . I hope your bloods come back normal next week - the fact that you are starting to feel better is a good sign that maybe things are righting themselves . Xx
Hi had bloods done yest not heard anything yet and I feel better I’m off to surgery next Wednesday xx
I’m glad that you’re feeling better . Xx
