Used all my brave up…

Hi Everyone,

Newbie to the forum but have read posts here and found them a big help, but this is my first time posting.

So, here I am, the other side of surgery, therapeutic mammoplasty nearly 5 months ago, then radiotherapy and taking the hormone blocker Letrozole.

Come a long way since I first heard the word cancer, but still feel so unsettled, I do not know what my new normal will be but I know I’m not there yet.

My newly abbreviated breast still zings and the scars feel so tight , there is a red/ purple mark, on my areola scar line that refuses to disappear - what could that be? ( it’s so small but worrying me) hope this photo is allowed, apologies if not.
But if anyone has any idea , would appreciate the feedback

Plus I’m so tired ……….
It’s quite the journey and I’m trying not to lose my way .

Hi pbr. I had a new redness on my breast many years ago, about a year after treatment had finished (apart from hormone treatment). I worried myself sick, but managed to see my oncologist and had more tests. It turned out to be nothing. I can only suggest you see your gp and ask to be referred back to your hospital. Fingers crossed for you and hope all is ok. Sending hugs. xx

Can you get in touch with your BCN and ask for an appointment to get assessed ? About 3 months after radiotherapy I found another lump in my breast near my wound . I sort of pretended to myself that I hadn’t found it but then it got bigger and started to hurt - I was really scared even though the rational part of my brain thought it was probably nothing. I phoned the BCN service and was given an appointment within a week and the lump turned out to be just fat necrosis . I’m not suggesting that you have the same but that you will honestly be better off knowing because the likelihood is that it’s nothing you need to worry about . Xx

Hi @pbr, welcome to the forum. I am glad to read you are finding the forum a big help. Our team and the many users on the forum are here to help, as is our team of breast care nurses if you ever wish to be in touch.

Sending our warmest wishes
Bernard

PS I removed the photo in your post in line with our photography guidelines. Not to worry - that guidelines thread often gets lost, and for fairness we remove any photos that people may post by accident.

My apologies, I understand, fear affected my common sense.
