Hi, just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience.
I had SMX for ILC with immediate diep reconstruction on 01 Feb 2024. Followed by chemo, radiotherapy and now on Zoladex injections and Letrozole. Since the end of active treatment, I have had very occasional spotting, noticed on my underwear when at the loo. The spots are tiny, like the size of a 10p and I never feel it happening like you would with a period. When I say occasional, it’s only happened maybe 6 or 7 times since August 2024. I ignored it the first few times, thinking it couldn’t be anything serious as it’s so insignificant. It happened again mid December. I called GP, got an urgent appointment and GP examined me, took a swab, said it looks like a urethral carunkle
(caused by lack of estrogen) that has been irritated causing a slight bleed from it but she would refer me to gynaecology to be sure. Had a hysteroscopy on 11 Jan, all looks fine which is great news. It’s just happened again though and I do sometimes feel slight cramps, kind of like mild period cramps. Also the blood is situated on my underwear, below the vaginal opening and not at the front where the urethra is.
Should I be going back to get checked again? Is this something that anyone else has dealt with?
The hysteroscopy was only just over a week ago…
Any insights?
