I followed a You Tube link posted on another site and watched the film. It seems there is substantial scientific evidence that taking Vitamin D3 can help prevent many cancers including breast cancer. In terms of reducing recurrence, one study showed a 50% reduction in recurrence among women with adequate levels of D3. I for one am going to start supplements having watched this film. The film was produced by the University of California and Grassroots health and presented by Carol Baggerty. I found it very convincing.

I have been taking D3 since I was diagnosed last year. It is the only supplement I take. I also have osteoporosis and D3 is a key component of the calcium metabolisation process.
There is some intriguing data regarding D3 but nobody is entirely sure what it all means. Does breast cancer cause a D3 deficiency? Does a D3 deficiency cause breast cancer? The medics can’t even agree how to quantify what a deficiency actually is.
They know that women in the north of the northern hemispheres (exposed to less D3 from sunlight) have greater incidences of breast cancer than women in sunnier climes. But I have spent large amounts of my life in very sunny climates - and I still have bc.
Thank you for the thread, i wondered a lot abt thsis subject…
I am was raised and lived in a very sunny climate too,
and still i got BC too.
But i believe also that D3 helps according to studies.
And what do you think is the right dose for after treatment is finished ??

I take 800iu and there are 400iu in my calcium supplements - so 1200 in total. It is a random amount - nobody can agree on the correct dosage. In the US some women have their D3 levels checked and dose adjusted accordingly - but then that could just be another way of adding further expense to the health insurance bill.
I take Vit D3 as part of my prescribed anti (I don’t have it) osteoporosis medication. The other part is ibandrondic acid. I think the acid improves take-up of the calcium and/or the Vit D3.
